Mission 2: Engagement [Ori + Mai]

Lili had decided to go with the big lug of a man known as Tsu'neh, even though Mai had offered for the girl to stay with her and Ori for the night. In a way she probably hadn't realized that Ori would be more glad that Lili wasn't with them. Even if Mai might had been speculative about what was going on when Ori dragged the tengu girl to the most expensive hotel in the town. Sure they had the money to spend, thanks to their adventures and their Apothecary, but she knew their had to be a reason for it.

Her fox was already curled up on a pillow that was on the floor just for him. Like he usually was when they had beds, either that, or Kits was always sleeping on or between Mai and Ori. Though it seemed like Kits knew when to sleep away from them. He was a good fox. Mai had already taken down her disguise and set aside the majority of her clothing to be able to relax even for a bit, for the night. She let out the softest of a sigh as she flopped onto the bed and leaned back after letting her wings stretch out. Sleeping on her back was the most uncomfortable thing for Mai to do, but if she just spread her wings out completely she could at least tiredly let her body rest on her back for just a bit. Her feet were still dangling off the bed anyway, so she didn't plan to fall asleep like that. Unfortunately, she had been so exhausted that when she closed her eyes she was out.

It was mostly all darkness, to the point that Mai hadn't even noticed any time pass before she was awoken by the door opening again. Her wings felt sore, but not too terribly bad, which told her she couldn't have fallen asleep much longer than an hour at most.

"Ori?" Mai asked, letting out a soft yawn as she spoke. Her body leaning up from the bed as she looked around, to find her fox snoring away on the pillow nearby her feet on the floor. "I must have fell asleep. I meant to come find you." Mai continued, her hand running up to rub at her eye, just over her beak. She let out another yawn as she stood up and swiveled around to the entrance of their room and the rest of the bed.
